Join My Group
I am currently leading several research projects and looking to hire highly self-motivated intern students (on-site or remote). I am looking for students with strong technical backgrounds and interests in one or more of the following areas:
- Formal verification — automated reasoning, model checking, and program synthesis.
- Optimization and Approximate Computing — approximate top-K algorithms and optimization methods.
- Cryptography — fully homomorphic encryption (FHE), bootstrapping, zero-knowledge proofs (ZKPs), and multi-party computation.
As an intern in my group, you will gain deep research experience and direct mentorship that prepare you for a successful research career. This internship serves as the primary pathway into my Ph.D. program.
- Priority for Ph.D. admission: Interns who demonstrate strong research ability and independence will receive priority consideration for Ph.D. positions in my group.
- Strong recommendation letters: Interns will receive detailed and personalized recommendation letters for graduate school or fellowship applications, based on their technical performance and research maturity.
- Research and publication opportunities: Interns will work on real projects in areas such as zero-knowledge proofs, secure computation, and formal verification, often leading to co-authored papers in top-tier venues (IEEE S&P, CCS, USENIX Security, CAV).
If you are interested, please send me an email at nl27@illinois.edu with your CV and a brief description of your research interests.
